Pay Attention Video
I loved the Pay Attention Video. It made me think and realize that the children that we teach probably know more than us about technology. I believe that before a teacher could get to the student's mind, he or she must get to their heart, and this means that we must talk about their interests. Students will be motivated to learn more in our classrooms and participate if we incorporate in our system what really interests them: technology.

I agree - technology is what today's students know and love and we as teachers must embrace it not fight it! Our job is to prepare our students for the real world, and by only teaching them traditional academic skills we are neglecting an important part of what they will need to be successful. Like you said our students probably know more about the technology available and how to use it then we do. As teachers we need lose our fear of the unknown and seek out the new technology and learn how to use it ourselves. We need to give students ways to use their knowledge of technology in valuable learning experiences. Just think of how great our students will feel and how engaged they will be when they are able to use things they love like chats and blogs and podcasts and the internet to get their work done!
So true.
I love watching this video with teachers and seeing their eyes widen.
Thank you for posting!
